What makes Eleanor Care different?

Eleanor operates at a higher level than other health and care providers, who simply ensure your basic needs are met. We aim to excel in all services we provide, from care in your home, to working closely with our partners in NHS trusts, and local authorities to provide solutions. As well as helping people who use our services with everyday living, our values are reflective of ensuring we know, value and challenge all of our employees, partners and clients.

What are the benefits of care at home?

The main benefit of care at home is that you stay living in your own home, surrounded by your own possessions and the cherished memories you have made there. It means you remain independent and in control of your own life, but with specialist support so that you can do so in comfort and safety. With the care at home that Eleanor provides, you will also ensure you have the same trusted support worker coming to your home and giving you the means to live life to the full.

What are the benefits of care homes?

The main benefit of moving into a care home is that all of our care home sites offer specialist, en-suite and purpose built facilities, including the space required for all relevant equipment. In a care home environment, we provide a host of individual and group activities for those who choose to participate. A care home setting means you are able to receive 24 hour on site support from our friendly staff teams. All of our care homes have on-site chefs who work in conjunction with residents to provide a range of meal options, personalised to each residents needs.

What is supported living?

Much like a care home setting, supported living provides both care and accommodation services. Supported living settings tend to be much smaller than a care home, usually located in a normal residential house, with 3-8 residents. Each resident has a tenancy agreement, and support needs are decided separately. A supported living home will also have staff on site 24 hours a day, but will generally provide support and prompting residents to live as independently as possible.

What do you mean by meaningful activities?

Research shows that both mental and physical stimulation is an important part of maintaining a happy and healthy life, which is why meaningful activities forms a large part of our service. You and your dedicated support team will develop a plan of activities that are not only designed to inspire and excite but are clinically proven to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Meaningful activities range from walking and swimming to painting and puzzles!

Are you able to care for people with dementia?

Yes, our staff are specially trained to help those with dementia live a full, healthy and happy life for as long as possible. They are experienced in both recognising the signs of early dementia, and providing care and exercises that have been medically approved to help alleviate or slow down the life-changing symptoms.

Is care only for elderly people?

No! At Eleanor, we provide services to a whole range of the population, from children with physical or learning disabilities, all the way through to end of life care. Our services can be tailored to a range of needs, from needing some domestic or shopping support, all the way through to providing personal and nursing care services. If you are not sure what services would apply to you, please do get in touch.

Do you offer respite care?

Yes, we provide quality respite or crisis care for when those looking after a loved one need a break or holiday. Whether it’s a one-off visit, an hour a day as part of a regular routine, or full time care to cover a break or trip, we’ll be there to help you. We provide respite services both in your own home, or at one of our accommodation based services, depending on what is more suitable.

Can I afford care?

We are able to offer a range of services to meet your budget. You may be entitled to support with paying for your services, either via your local authority, or via NHS. There are now a number of schemes in place to support people with paying for their care and support costs, including deferred payments. Please check out our funding page for further information.
