Responsibilities

• Assist and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness already established.
• Have knowledge of the correct use of all kitchen equipment.
• Attend any training sessions as arranged by the Home Manager with special regard to your health and safety.
• Have knowledge of the Health and Safety Regulations, with specific reference to COSHH.
• Have knowledge of all cleaning compounds used and use in according to directions.
• Preparation of vegetables, salads and sandwiches.
• Assist in keeping all surfaces and storage areas clean and tidy.
• Preparation of trolley, meal trays and hot trolleys to units.
• Clearing away and restocking the unit kitchenettes with crockery etc.
• Preparation of simple meals and beverages under supervision of the chef in charge.
• Have due regard and respect for residents/relatives request for beverages outside scheduled meal times.
• Washing up all crockery and utensils used in the course of the day.
• Maintain the floor area is clean and free of grease or spillages at all times and wash floor area daily.
• Adhere to the agreed cleaning rotas and schedules.
• Have knowledge of specific Fire Precautions within the kitchen area as well as Fire Regulations throughout the home.
• Notify the Head Chef immediately from any of the illnesses: vomiting, diarrhoea, septic skin legions, skin rashes, discharge from ear, eyes, nose and any other sites.
