Live-in care is a service where a fully trained carer lives with you in your home. Full-time support and companionship is provided round-the-clock 24/7.
This allows you or your loved one to maintain independence while staying in familiar surroundings. Whether assistance is needed due to ageing, illness or disability, our live-in carers are there to help with everyday activities, medication supervision and emotional support.
Your dedicated live-in carer will focus entirely on your unique needs. Unlike in care homes, where staff may have to divide their attention, live-in care offers personalised, one-on-one care around the clock.
Staying in your own home allows you to keep your routine, remain in your familiar surroundings, and maintain control over your lifestyle choices. Our carers adapt to your preferences, making care flexible and responsive to your needs.
Live-in carers do more than just provide physical support—they offer companionship that enhances mental and emotional well-being. This helps combat loneliness and isolation, allowing you to maintain a social life on your own terms.
Live-in care can be more affordable than residential care homes, especially when considering the personal attention you receive. You pay for a service tailored specifically to your needs, without the extra costs associated with residential care.
Our live-in carers are trained to manage complex conditions, including dementia, Parkinson’s, and stroke recovery, ensuring that even with advanced health concerns, you can remain at home with dignity and independence
Live-in care provides a fully customised care plan tailored to the specific needs and preferences of each individual. Whether it’s specialised care for medical conditions or personal routines, live-in care adapts to you.
Staying in a familiar environment provides emotional comfort, especially for those with cognitive conditions like dementia. Clients can maintain their lifestyle, surrounded by the things they love.
With 24/7 monitoring, live-in care reduces the risk of accidents, falls, and other emergencies that may lead to hospital visits. Early intervention can help manage health conditions before they escalate.
Live-in care not only supports the individual receiving care but also provides peace of mind for family members, knowing that their loved ones are being looked after by professionals.
For those nearing the end of life, live-in care offers compassionate, palliative care at home, providing comfort and dignity in familiar surroundings.
We match you with a carer based on your personality, interests, and specific care needs, ensuring a harmonious relationship.
Our Live-in carers are fully vetted, highly trained, and continuously supported to ensure the best quality care.

We’re here for you around the clock.
Call us on 01732 441877 and one of our friendly team will be happy to discuss your requirements and talk about the next steps.
Your carer can stay with you for as little as a couple of days to several weeks at a time. We can provide ongoing care, intermittent care, or respite care to cover family breaks. If you require care over several weeks or on an ongoing basis, we will set up a team of regular carers for you, who will stay for two to three weeks each on average. Please contact us to discuss what length of care you are looking for and we will explain how this works.
If you require a carer to drive, please let us know. Many carers drive but may not own a vehicle. One option is to insure the carer to drive your own car. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to provide you with a driver.
Carers will wake in the night to help if their clients need them. They will charge £12.00 each time they get up during the night. Carers can assist up to twice a night. If a client consistently requires more help in the night than this, we will discuss the possibility of providing additional nighttime support.
On average our carers will work between 10-12 hours a day. Carers require a two-hour break each day to suit the client. They must be able to leave the house if they wish during this break. If the client cannot be left during this time cover will be needed – this could be a family member, friend or private carer. Or this can be provided by the Eleanor Care Group. The carer will need their own bedroom and a proper bed. Camp beds and sofa beds are not acceptable. They are happy to share bathrooms. You need to pay for food for the carer, although they can buy it themselves and cook for both of you.
We provide 24/7 emergency cover for our clients. When you join our service, you will be given our out-of-hours emergency number for round-the-clock support.
If your care needs increase, we can adapt your care to suit your needs, so please don’t worry. If there are any changes required, one of the Live-Well team will contact you to discuss this. It is likely you will be able to keep your regular group of live-in carers even if your care needs change.
Every effort is made to select carers based on client and carer personalities, but we are human and sometimes things don’t quite work out as we have hoped or planned. When a carer arrives to assist you for the first time, one of the Live-Well team will call you after the first few days to see how you are both settling in. If there are any issues, we would appreciate you telling us so that we can make a plan if needed. If there are concerns that can’t be resolved, we may be able to assist. However, if things are really not working then we will do our utmost to find a suitable replacement.
We have plans in place if these situations arise, so please do not worry. Our carers will contact us and we will do our utmost to provide a replacement carer as soon as possible. Carers will try to remain with you until the incoming carer arrives. To further support these situations, we ask each client to nominate an emergency contact – a family member or trusted person – to provide cover until the next carer arrives, ensuring that you aren’t left on your own.
Our carers will issue the client or nominated client representative with an invoice for the time they have provided care, and will be expected to be paid directly to their bank details. Carers are responsible for making their own tax and national insurance contributions via HMRC self-assessment as they are self employed professionals.
After your initial payment of the registration fee which is taken over the phone or arranged as a bank transfer, you will be invoiced monthly in advance for our agency fee. Direct Debits can easily be set up to take the stress out of arranging payments and our finance team will help with this.
Absolutely! One of the many benefits of having a live-in carer is so your beloved pets can stay with you. Our carers are very happy to assist with caring for your pets and will be happy to feed, exercise and support with anything they might need. In fact, some of our carers will choose clients with pets.
Our carers love going out and about with their clients and will be happy to assist with arranging outings or appointments. This could be a visit to your family or friends, going out for coffee or lunch, taking you to regular social activities or appointments with healthcare professionals. The carer will help you arrange suitable transport so you can get out and about together. Some of our carers have accompanied clients to concerts, theatre trips, National Trust properties and many other interesting places – even on holiday!
Yes, the Live-Well service is available to assist both single clients and couples to enable them to stay in their home. Our carers can assist both partners if required or if one client has care needs and the other is self-caring our sensitive service can benefit them both. This is especially true if one of the partners is the main carer and the care needs of the other have increased, so that professional help is now required. One of the many benefits of live-in care is that couples/partners can stay together, keeping their social contacts and activities while being well cared for and safe at home.
Eleanor Live-Well does not provide domiciliary care, but other parts of the Eleanor Care Group can help with this. Please click here for further information – https://www.eleanorhealthcaregroup.co.uk/home-care/
